Mearns Minibus Link officially came into being in August 2019 when it became clear that there was a real need for a safe, reliable community transport service in the Mearns.  MML is a registered Scottish charity and has five Trustees who all live locally.

Within six months of coming together, sufficient funds had been raised to buy a brand new, fourteen-seater, wheelchair-accessible minibus.  This was ordered in February 2020 but due to the Covid pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, was not delivered to Laurencekirk until November.

The MML Minibus is now available for hire by local community groups in the surrounding area.  Thanks to a bank of willing volunteers, we are also able to help with transporting people who are unable, because of mobility issues, to use the services of other transport providers in the area.

Volunteer drivers and escorts are always welcome so if you are interested in donating some of your spare time to the community, please do get in touch.  All MML volunteers will be expected to be a member of the PVG Scheme and all drivers must have successfully completed a MiDAS training course (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme), which can be organised through Mearns Minibus Link.

We would like to thank the following funders whose grants and donations made it possible to get the new community minibus on the road:
